Crafting Time With Katie

Above: This was the first picture I took for fun!!

Above:  "Flower Power Headband."
The products it's made out of are:

1. Flower wire. Use thin green wire to make your base of headband. Measure your head with the wire and use flower tape to wrap overlapped wire. Wrap it several times until the wire is not poking out.

2. Artificial flower. My flower is light yellow. Try not to choose a bulky flower for your headband, unless you would to try it out.

3. Green felt. Hot glue it to back of flower and on other side of wire. This helps so the flower tape will not stick to your hair.

The products it's made out of are:

1. Paper Clips. Bend the paper clips to a triangle shape and then hot glue ends together. You just need a drop of glue for this and smooth it out.

2. Yarn. You can use any color and make any design. Begin by gluing the yarn on paper clip, then at the  end do the same. BE CAREFUL of how much glue you put on it and smooth it out.

3. Earring clasps. I used a small piece of flower wire to loop it around the paper clip and clasp. Loop wire around paper clip and then loop clasp on the wire and then twist the wire. Use wire cutters to cut extra wire off.

Above: "Keyboard Charm Necklace"
The products it's made out of are:

1. A random charm and chain I found at Walmart. Wrap your charm around the chain.

2. 2 buttons = One at the top and on the keyboard key. The smaller one = I threaded it through with thread, tied it, and glued the thread. The big one up top = is wired and hot glued on the charm. Or however you need to put the button on. :)

3. A key off of a keyboard. Make sure it's not off the one you are using at home. :)  I poked a tiny hole in the keyboard key with help from a lighter and a paper clip. (Make sure you are extremely careful or ask for help.) I also used thread to hold the keyboard key in place and hot glued it on the key charm.

Above: "Zipper Bracelet"
The products it's made out of are:

1. 7" zipper (or whatever your wrist size is). Cut the extra fabric on the sides and ends of zipper (make it thin or thick your choice.) and use a lighter to melt the sides and ends of zipper. This will help so it will not fray.

2. Use a jump ring and clasp. I heated up a paper clip and poked a hole through the bottom of the zipper. The jump ring is looped in this hole and clasp is looped on jump ring. The clasp then is looped on the zipper pull. (option: you can have a charm to add effect to the bracelet and loop it on the jump ring.)

Above: "The Case" (Katie made this for my sister)
The products it's made out of are:

1. Drawer liner. Cut and shape to size of item you are making the case for. This example is for a Kindle. You can make it for your: iPod, MP3, camera, Kindle, phone, etc. . . . **Make sure it's long enough for a flap and wide enough for the object to fit into the case. If you have a thick object, maybe make it 1/2" wider on both sides or to your best judgment.**

2. Duct Tape. You can use any color and/ or design for your case. My friend, Katie, used black, silver, and leopard on this case above. She also made a star for it too. This is an option.

3. Use velcro for the flap. Place on the flap and the front of case.

**Katie and I had a wonderful time crafting. We have more crafts we would like to do next time we craft.  I hope you enjoyed my crafts and try them out!!**
